Andis Introduces AGP Super 2 Speed™ Cattle Clipper

Andis has introduced the AGP Super 2 Speed™ Cattle Clipper, clad in a rubber, anti-slip, soft grip housing. The new purple clipper has two speeds and runs at up to 4,400 strokes per minute. Its rotary motor is powerful yet, quiet and can cut through even thick, matted hair. The AGP Super 2 Speed™ Cattle Clipper is equipped with the new 4 x 4 blade drive, which delivers 25% greater blade torque. Developed for professional use, the clipper has detachable blades for easy changing and cleaning and comes with an UltraEdge™ Super Blocking Blade.

“Everyone is amazed by the power of our new AGP model clippers,” says Fred
Koeller, Vice President of Marketing at Andis. “With the new 4 x 4 blade drive, the clippers cut faster and more easily through even the thickest coat. Clipping is easier, too. The clipper is extremely quiet, like all of our animal clippers.”

Designed to last for years, the clipper is maintenance free and requires no oil or greasing of internal parts. It has a 14’ heavy duty cord constructed so that it remains flexible in all types of weather conditions. The new clipper is made in the U.S.A. and comes with a one year warranty.

The AGP Super 2 Speed™ Cattle Clipper is compatible with all Andis UltraEdge™ and CeramicEdge™ blades, as well as most other detachable blades. It has an easy change blade drive cap and a blade lock to keep blades securely in place.

Andis manufactures the widest variety of blades in the world. Andis’ exclusive carburized hardening process adds carbon to the cutting edge and creates blades that stay sharper, longer. A special chrome finish resists rust and keeps blades at optimum performance. Andis’ CeramicEdge™ blades have patented ceramic cutters that are more durable and stay up to 75% cooler than steel cutters.

Perfect Timing for New Biosecure Dairy Cow Cremator

J&D Manufacturing’s recent introduction of the new Biosecure Dairy Cow Cremator couldn’t come at a better time. The Food and Drug Administration has just released the ruling on a new regulation, set to take effect in April, which prohibits the use of high risk animal tissues in livestock and pet food. The ruling is aimed at preventing the spread of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE, sometimes referred to as "mad cow disease"). Many rendering services have already announced that they will stop accepting carcasses due to the added cost of removing the brains and spinal cord from the animal. Undoubtedly many other disposal services will raise the cost of rendering in 2009.

The new J&D Dairy Cow Cremator offers a large potential cost savings to the responsible dairy owner when compared to other rendering services. The biosecure burning process meets and exceeds EPA guidelines, and reduces 100 pounds of carcass to less than one gallon of ash. When operated properly, there are no unpleasant odors or smoke during the burning process.

The 9’ long two-chamber unit has a patented pre-tempered refractory block liner that resists cracking. The liner not only insulates, but also acts as a burner by reflecting heat onto the carcasses and distributing it evenly throughout the unit. With a life expectancy of 7,500 to 10,000 hours, and a 3000° temperature rating, you’ll get years of use before ever having to think about replacement liner parts.

The unit comes standard with a secondary afterburner for the cleanest possible emissions. The clean out door and ½” x 2” interior steel grating, which keeps the carcasses off the base of the cremator, are also standard features. The cremator has a burn rate of 100 pounds per hour with a 2000 pound load capacity. It is available for diesel, LP, natural gas, and methane applications.

For more information on the J&D Cremator please call 1-800-998-2398, log on to www.jdmfg.com, or stop by Booth # 6700 at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California. Information about the new FDA ruling can be found at www.fda.gov.

E.I. Medical imaging celebrates 25 years of innovation in portable veterinary ultrasound

E.I. Medical Imaging rings in 2009 with great pride celebrating their 25th year as a world leader in portable veterinary ultrasound. E.I. Medical Imaging is the only U.S. based manufacturer of veterinary ultrasound designed specifically for veterinary use.

The company started 25 years ago as a small family operated business focused on the needs of veterinary and livestock professionals using ultrasound in the field. The small company used its resources in engineering and knowledge of the farm and clinical environments to design ultra portable, durable ultrasound technology that can easily be taken to the animals.

E.I. Medical Imaging president, Chas Maloy acquired the company in 2005 and states, “Our core values remain intact: We put our customer first, and we deliver solid, effective ultrasound solutions.”

E.I. Medical Imaging is proudly launching the company’s 5th Generation of portable ultrasound systems in 2009. The new Ibex ultrasound incorporates the latest in technology and design to be the most rugged and shock resistant portable veterinary ultrasound offered in the market today. It is an all-digital system that offers the user flexibility and results they can clearly see.

Maloy comments, “25 years is a long time for a company our size to remain in this industry.  We are very proud to be able to deliver to our customers new, quality domestically manufactured products and continue to deliver the service for which we have come to be known.  We have over 3 1/2 years of R&D into these new products.  We are confident that our customers (both existing and new) will recognize the amount of thought and effort that went into the design.
